White Wine Sauce is delicious served over fish, seafood and chicken.  It’s a great way to liven up a plain meal!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup White Wine (dry)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Chicken Stock Cube
  • 3/4 cup Water Boiling
  • 1 1/4 cups Cream
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 1 Shallot finely diced
  • 1 Chilli (finely diced) optional


Method

  1. Melt the butter in a frypan until bubbling.
  2. Cook the shallots and chilli's together with the mustard powder until softened.
  3. Add the white wine and cook until the mixture reduces.
  4. Dissolve the stock cube in the boiling water and add to the sauce.
  5. Boil uncovered until the mixture reduces by half.
  6. Pour in the cream and simmer until sauce thickens.
  7. Season to taste and serve immediately.

Notes

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • White Wine Sauce is not suitable to freeze.
